Congratulations to the fearless white hunters from Lindbergh plant, who braved the Alberta wilds to bring home the winter supply of meat. Those that bagged moose were : George Krissa, Tony Sheplawy, Tom Melnyk and Ken Palamarek. A number of deer were also bagged by plant personnel.
With the coming of snow and cold weather to the Lindbergh area, the winter sports enthusiasts bundle up and head for the curling rinks and ski slopes. Curling is under way at Elk Point and is expected to start shortly at Lindbergh. Skiing will be starting at the Elk Point Ski Club's "Snow Man's Land" on Dec. 5th.
The only happy face around the Lindbergh plant after Montreal's impressive win over our western representative, C a l g a r y Stampeders, was Orest Capjack's. His wife, Connie, was the big winner in the B.P.O. Elk's Grey Cup Pool, collecting $100.00 on the final score. Knowing Orest, we doubt if she even saw the money.
The annual union banquet and dance was held in the Elk's Community Hall, Elk Point, on November 21. Members of Local 474, I.C.W.U. and their guests enjoyed a lovely banquet and completed the evening with dancing. A very enjoyable time was had by all those attending.
Marriages
Wedding bells rang in the Lindbergh and Elk Point area on November 28, when Edith Hodge and Norman Young were married in the Elk Point United Church. Edith is a package operator at the Lindbergh Plant. Congratulations to the happy couple from all of the Lindbergh staff.
Also united in matrimony on November 28, were Sharon Maslak and Ronald Lungul, both of Elk Point. Sharon is the daughter of Mrs. Pauline Maslak and the late Peter A. Maslak, former pan operator at Lindbergh. Sharon also worked at Lindbergh in the packaging department during the summer months.
