Although the Lindbergh Salt Plant was situated where it was along Mooswa Creek by the North Saskatchewan River in 1947 because of the presence of good natural gas wells, by the 1960s company management recognised they would need more gas so wells were drilled in the area and pipelines put in place to further explore solutions to the need for natural gas.
We have some photos of early drilling in 1964.
